The Department of Transport advises that around 140-160 hours of study, even for those with some previous industry experience, to successfully gain this Level 3 (equivalent to A-Level) to gain the depth and breadth of knowledge on a wide range of topics that are essential for a Transport Manger.

FEBRUARY & MARCH 2026 and EXAM
Monday 23/02/26 to Friday 27/02/2026, plus Monday 02/03/2026 to Thursday 05/03/2026
Days 1 to 7 - Training - Monday to Friday plus following Monday and Tuesday.
Day 8 - Multiple Choice Revision - Wednesday.
Day 9 - Case Study Revision - Thursday.
Day 10 - Paper Exam on Friday 6th March 2026

Closing date for booking: Friday 4pm on 7th February 2026.

EXAM DETAILS:

Part 1 Multiple Choice 60 Questions. Pass mark of 42. Lasts 2 hours – same for paper and online examinations.
Part 2 One Case Study between 6-8 questions. Top score 60 marks, pass mark approximately 30 (it can go up or down). Lasts 2hrs 15mins
Exams are held on the same day in two parts - 10:00 to 12:00 & 13:00 to 15:15.

Should a Multiple Choice re-sit be required this is only available as an on-line exam.  Case Study re-sits are available only as paper exams.

Learn in your own time and choose when to sit your exam online or on paper based.

Interactive Home Learning – known as Portal Plus.  
As well as the Manual (book) as above, you also have interactive access to over 120 lessons and over 200 downloadable training modules including quizzes, assignments, video presentations, practice exercises and check tests, to learn in your own time (at home or work).  And when completed, choose to sit your exam online or on paper, when you’re ready.

In Addition to the above Essentials and the Portal Plus, there are
Exam Fees - £164.50 (Part 1 Multiple Choice) and £189.50 (Part 2 Case Study) - total £354.
Fees include registration/exam booking administration and VAT where applicable.
You can book and pay for your exams at the same time as buying your Essentials or Portal Plus, of if preferred, you can choose to pay and arrange the exam later, and pay the the exams at time of making the booking.

Full e-Learning Package - 11 day e-Learning Package known as On-line Plus is e-learning that takes place over 3 weeks on a Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday followed by a Monday and Tuesday exam preparation, all supported with notes/manual for Home Study.  Choose a paper or online exam.  Fees include VAT where applicable.

The last date for booking the e-learning course is 12 noon on the Friday before the Tuesday start.

For May 2026 - e-learning: May 5^th, 6^th, 7^th, 19^th, 20^th, 21^st, 26^th, 27^th, 28^th & Jun 1^st and exam preparation days on June 2^nd & 3^rd 

For August 2026 - e-learning: Aug 11^th, 12^th, 13^th, 18^th, 19^th, 20^th, 25^th, 26^th, 27^th & 31^st and exam preparation days on September 1^st & 2^nd 

For November 2026 - e-learning: Nov 10^th, 11^th, 12^th, 17^th, 18^th, 19^th, 24^th, 25^th, 26^th & 30^th and exam preparation days on December 1^st & 2^nd

To Join SEG Remote On-Line Training you need:

1. A quiet office or room (on your own) without distractions
2. A desktop PC or a Laptop (not an Apple, Android or Chromebook)
3. Internet connection at 256kbps speed as a minimum
4. Functioning webcam with a microphone.
5. Ability to install a software on the machine
6. Show your ID, a photo driving licence or passport is ideal
